Using a key case study of your choice develop a written assignment (report style) to critically analyse the following question:
How much can employees influence the balance of power in contemporary employment relationships?

Instructions to students:
The word count for this assignment is 2500 (+/- 10%). This does not include citations and references. To help you develop your assignment please include the following elements:
1. Introduction: Outline which key organisation you have chosen to develop your analysis on.
2. Evaluate the current context of employment relations. These are issues which impact on your chosen organisation and should include areas such as the UK economic, political, legal and social issues which contribute to emerging and growing employment issues that may affect this corporation.
3. Outline the key concepts (i.e. unitarist, pluralist, and radical HRM). These are employment relations concepts which determine how the employment relationships in this corporation are managed.
4. Evaluate the role of key actors and stakeholders in the employment relationship. These are different stakeholders whose role will impact on the employment relations environment in your chosen organisation. This may include the role of trade unions, employer and other work-related associations or wider diverse communities. Draw attention to, and critically discuss, any issues of conflict or recent collective struggles which exist in this corporation. This may include systemic issues of precarity, pay and diversity (i.e. gender, race etc) where there is some form of employee resistance. Ensure that you discuss this in relation to relevant UK/EU legislation which add possible conflicts to the employment relations environment in your assignment.
5. Recommendations and Conclusion. In the final part you must discuss how as a lead HR or Management specialist you would advise an employer to address the key major workplace inequalities that you have noted in your discussion. Please address how you would you recommend the chosen organisation to address this particular issue to ensure they create a fairer, engaged, healthier and productive workforce.

To support these sections, you must use peer-reviewed journal articles, relevant government or recognised statistics, current EU/UK law and wider professional reports to develop your argument.

This section should set out the key ER concepts. i.e. Define what is the employment relationship (reference definitions), what perspective is adopted in your chosen organisation (Unitary, Pluralist, Radical HRM) and how this affects the balance of power – you could include management styles models here (see lecture 2).

• Current context of Employment Relations affecting your chosen organisation: 650 words
This section should focus on the current context and how this affects the case corporation (use STEEPLE).
The key impact is an issue that has implications for the workforce, internally and externally – we have covered the UK exit from the EU (Brexit) and Covid-19 as key issues/concerns.
Please try to address one impact and may focus narrowly on a few key areas of the S, T, E/E, P, L, E models or you will rapidly run out. We would rather have a fuller discussion in a few key areas than a shallow desсrіption across them all.
Some examples:
a. SHELL PETROLEUM: affected by Brexit – (political /legal issues)… impact lack of hauliers which affects profit/ costs (economic).

What are your overall recommendation, what needs to change and be implemented to achieve your updated strategy and plan? What is your overall recommendation for strategic change? What needs to change, who needs to change and what considerations need to be given to the planet?
The recommendations should be clear and consistent with your overall report.
Naturally, the format and structure of your assignment and arguments will be influenced by the type of organisation that you select (for example, a particularly un-ethical organisation might need more focus (words) for ‘the planet’ and fewer for ‘the plan,’ an organisation with an unclear or no strategy, might need more focus on the plan). Your tutor will support you in the development of your ideas and word weightings in your assignment.

Kejadian stunting pada anak secara signifikan lebih besar di antara anak-anak yang ibunya tidak menyelesaikan pendidikan dasar dibandingkan dengan mereka yang menyelesaikan sekolah menengah atas. Pengukuran stunting paling sering terjadi pada anak laki-laki dan anak-anak yang memiliki ibu dengan pendidikan rendah, terutama di pedesaan.

4. Pendapatan Rumah Tangga
Stunting umumnya berhubungan dengan rendahnya kondisi sosial ekonomi secara keseluruhan dan atau eksposur yang berulang yang dapat berupa penyakit atau kejadian yang dapat merugikan kesehatan. Tingkat sosial ekonomi keluarga dapat dilihat dari penghasilan dalam satu keluarga. Hal ini merupakan modal dasar menuju keluarga sejahtera, sehingga semua keluarga mengharapkan mendapatkan penghasilan yang maksimal untuk menunjang kebutuhan hidupnya. Menurut Fikawati dan Shafiq, tingkat sosial ekonomi berkaitan dengan daya beli keluarga. Kemampuan keluarga untuk membeli bahan makanan antara lain tergantung pada besar kecilnya pendapatan keluarga, harga bahan makanan itu sendiri, serta tingkat pengelolaaan sumber daya lahan dan pekarangan. Keluarga dengan pendapatan terbatas kemungkinan besar kurang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan makanannya terutama untuk memenuhi kebutuhan zat gizi dalam tubuh anak.
5. Sanitasi Lingkungan
Kesehatan lingkungan pada hakikatnya adalah suatu kondisi atau keadaan lingkungan yang optimum sehingga berpengaruh positif terhadap terwujudnya status kesehatan yang optimum pula. Ruang lingkup kesehatan lingkungan tersebut antara lain: perumahan, pembuangan kotoran manusia (tinja), penyediaan air bersih, pembuangan sampah, pembuangan air kotor (air limbah), rumah hewan ternak (kandang), dan sebagainya. Keadaan lingkungan yang kurang baik memungkinkan terjadinya berbagai penyakit antara lain diare dan infeksi saluran pernapasan.

Jika proporsi anak yang mengalami kurang gizi, gizi buruk, dan stunting besar dalam suatu negara, maka akan berdampak pula pada proporsi kualitas sumber daya manusia yang akan dihasilkan. Artinya, besarnya masalah stunting pada anak hari ini akan berdampak pada kualitas bangsa masa depan.
2. Kesulitan menguasai sains dan berprestasi dalam olahraga
Anak-anak yang tumbuh dan berkembang tidak proporsional hari ini, pada umumnya akan mempunyai kemampuan secara intelektual di bawah rata-rata dibandingkan anak yang tumbuh dengan baik. Generasi yang tumbuh dengan kemampuan kognisi dan intelektual yang kurang akan lebih sulit menguasai ilmu pengetahuan (sains) dan teknologi karena kemampuan analisis yang lebih lemah. Pada saat yang sama, generasi yang tumbuh dengan kondisi kurang gizi dan mengalami stunting, tidak dapat diharapkan untuk berprestasi dalam bidang olah raga dan kemampuan fisik. Dengan demikian, proporsi kurang gizi dan stunting pada anak adalah ancaman bagi prestasi dan kualitas bangsa di masa depan dari segala sisi.
3. Lebih mudah terkena penyakit degeneratif
Kondisi stunting tidak hanya berdampak langsung terhadap kualitas intelektual bangsa, tapi juga menjadi faktor tidak langsung terhadap penyakit degeneratif (penyakit yang muncul seiring bertambahnya usia). Berbagai studi membuktikan bahwa anak-anak yang kurang gizi pada waktu balita, kemudian mengalami stunting, maka pada usia dewasa akan lebih mudah mengalami obesitas dan terserang diabetes melitus. Seseorang yang dalam masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya mengalami kekurangan gizi dapat mengalami masalah pada perkembangan sistem hormonal insulin dan glukagon pada pankreas yang mengatur keseimbangan dan metabolisme glukosa. Sehingga, pada saat usia dewasa jika terjadi kelebihan intake kalori, keseimbangan gula darah lebih cepat terganggu, dan pembentukan jaringan lemak tubuh (lipogenesis) juga lebih mudah. Dengan demikian, kondisi stunting juga berperan dalam meningkatkan beban gizi ganda terhadap peningkatan penyakit kronis di masa depan.
4. Sumber daya manusia berkualitas rendah
